I agree to disagree on the article being a "whiny rant". I think that manners and class have no gender, ethnicity, or socio-economic status attached to them and I think this is what the article is truly about. The author is just aggravated by the poor manners of these parents in particular and by people asking about her reproductive status. I don't blame her. What she describes really was rude, the parent of the slap-happy 4-year-old, the person who invaded her personal space by touching her stomach. I would be annoyed too.
