Remembering Kitty Carlisle Hart

April 19, 2007 at 1:15 pm | In CETconnect.org | 1 Comment

I was saddened to hear of the passing of Kitty Carlisle Hart yesterday. While she was probably better known to some for her appearances on the game show To Tell The Truth, I’ll always remember her as Rosa from A Night At The Opera. Considered a classic amongst most movie and Marx Brothers fans, I always felt it lacked the insanity and spontaneity of the previous films. But I do admit that Kitty Carlisle (as she was known then) is stunning in this movie. Gorgeous, gentle and sweet, she was capable of holding her own in every scene she shared with the Brothers. Particularly endearing to me is the scene when Rosa comforts Pinky (Harpo) following a beating by the movie’s villain, Lassparri.

CET was fortunate to have Ms. Hart visit our studios last year for an interview with CET Express‘ Barbara Kellar. I encourage you to watch this interview and I hope you enjoy it as much as we here at CET do.
